So far, he hasn't and I have gut feeling that he's not going to improve much. and I doubt anyone is going to find a good comp to Halman that succeeded in the Majors.

See that's what I thought too, the price of MCG ALMOST makes up for it :) ALMOST but not quite...

Looking forward to your medical fact of the day!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3678266852437440905.post-3367674255877562722008-07-14T05:10:00.000-07:002008-07-14T05:10:00.000-07:00It is definitely a small world! Congrats on getti...It is definitely a small world! Congrats on getting into Georgetown. A lot of my classmates refer to Augusta as "Disgusta", but MCG is cheap so it almost makes up for it.

The longer I look at Halman, the less I like him as a ball player. While guys like Davis have equally disturbing walk rates, Davis has maintained a K% close to 20%, and his ISOP is much higher than Halman. It might seem like these are all a bunch of insignificant details, but in the end they make a huge difference.

Thanks for the comments.Adam Ghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01764263298997609150noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3678266852437440905.post-60007727575538824562008-07-13T20:15:00.000-07:002008-07-13T20:15:00.000-07:00WOW I just read your profile and you are at MCG!? ...WOW I just read your profile and you are at MCG!? We were this close to be sitting in the same city! I actually went to Emory and am going to Georgetown for med school in about a month. I only got into Georgetown and MCG but chose the more expensive but more exciting option instead (I'm sorry but Augusta turned me off :(.

What a coincidence that we're both Georgia resident. Small world...

About Halman, I was impressed by his EXBH + Slug% this year but never looked into his past years or career #s b/c his K% just scared the crap out of me. You should see how much has rc card is selling on Ebay. I always thought Chris Davis and Halman were a similar type of hitters but I see that statistically (based on ISO and BABIP), Davis has much more raw power than Halman at the same stage. Maybe Halman will turn the corner soon but if he doesn't perform in AA next year, I think we can safely say that you are right :)

Btw. Davis' BB% scares the bajesus out of me!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
